GREENACRE CAMPUS

Sport is an integral part of Al Sadiq College. The College provides a variety of recreational and competitive sports, which are managed by the school Sports Co-ordinator. The College is expanding in both numbers and facilities, which will ultimately ensure the expansion of sporting choices at the College.

Sports Motto

All Sadiq College is developing a strong sporting culture. The College places emphasis on participation and effort which is envisioned in the college sports motto ‘Always Our Best’.

Students are encouraged to partake in all activities and to develop a passion for success, fair play and fun. The College provides many avenues for students to reach their athletic potential.

Internal Sport

The College operates sport on a fortnightly cycle on Thursday. Students have opportunities to participate in a selection of activities each term. Activities include Basketball, Football, Netball, T-ball, Power walking, Touch football, Rugby League, AFL, Tennis and Volleyball.

External Sport

In addition to internal sport, the College enters many sporting competitions and is registered for a number sporting organizations, including: 

  • ISD (district)
  • SWISSA (district)
  • NSWCIS (state)

Students are able to compete at district and state level, which provides entry into National competitions incorporating, Independent, Catholic and Public Schools.

Sporting Competitions

  • FUTSAL (indoor soccer)– boys and girls
  • NRL Development days (boys)
  • Rugby League gala days (organized by Canterbury/Bankstown Bulldogs)
  • ISD sporting competitions for boys and girls in: Football, Basketball, Rugby League, Netball, Touch football, Triathlon and many more sports.
  • Oz-kick AFL
  • Softball/T-ball (boys and girls)
  • Any others as they occur

Whole School Sporting Activities

The College also engages in whole school sporting activities, such as the annual Cross Country Carnivals and Athletics Carnivals.
