Beyond The Classroom

Engaging in sports is a vital part of student life at Al Sadiq College. Our programs inspire students to develop physical fitness, teamwork, and resilience while fostering a strong sense of community and school spirit. With opportunities spanning recreational and competitive activities, every student is encouraged to embrace an active and balanced lifestyle.

Overnight Excursions

Our Overnight Excursion Program offers students the chance to push their personal boundaries, build resilience and independence, and develop teamwork and friendships while challenging themselves in unfamiliar environments. Students in Years 5 and 6 participate in visits to Bathurst and Canberra, while Year 7 students attend a camp at Galston. These overnight experiences provide exciting opportunities to enjoy learning outside the College in a fun and supportive atmosphere alongside their teachers and peers.

Leadership Opportunities

Service is important and by making a difference to the lives of others, our students receive a powerful education about the world, the voice they have in it and importantly, the influence they have to shape it. Students regular participate in a range of fundraising activities, including, Ramadan fundraising. Numerous students also participate in the annual ‘Write a Book in Day’ Event, with all proceeds going to the Kids’ Cancer Project.

Student Leadership

Students have the opportunity to stand for leadership positions in both Year 6 and Year 12. These leadership roles include School Captain, Vice-Captain, Prefects, and House Captains.  Once appointed, student leaders participate in Leadership Workshops held in Term 1 to further develop their leadership skills, preparing them to effectively serve the school community. These leadership roles provide meaningful opportunities for students to develop responsibility, teamwork, and school spirit while representing their peers with integrity and enthusiasm.

Sport

We believe every student should have the opportunity to be active, engaged, and develop a lifelong appreciation for physical activity. Through Physical Education across the Junior and Senior Schools, students participate in a wide range of sports and movement activities that promote teamwork, participation, and skill development.

Students can further extend themselves through representative sport, with Years 4–12 eligible to trial for SWISSA teams, and Years 5–6 participating in the Harmony Cup. Junior School students engage in Athletics, Gymnastics, Swimming, as well as Junior NRL (modified) and Cricket.

Whole-school events such as Athletics Carnivals and the K–2 Fun Sports Day bring our community together and celebrate participation at all levels. We are proud to offer pathways for every student—whether building confidence through participation or striving for excellence in competition.

Building a Strong Sporting Community

Al Sadiq College emphasizes the importance of whole-school engagement in sports. Annual events such as Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals unite students in friendly competition and celebration of school spirit. The College’s growing facilities and commitment to sporting excellence ensure every student can explore their athletic potential while fostering values like teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
